INSULATION MATERIALS
Insulation materials are materials used to control factors such as heat, sound, humidity and air coming from the interior and exterior environments of buildings. Here are some commonly used insulation materials and their properties:
Glass Wool: Glass wool is an insulation material obtained by melting and drawing glass. It provides heat and sound insulation, is fireproof and chemically resistant. It can be used on roofs, walls and floors.
Rock Wool: Rock wool is an insulation material made from lava rock or basalt. It provides heat and sound insulation like glass wool, and is also fire resistant. It can be used on the interior and exterior surfaces of buildings.
Polystyrene Foam: Polystyrene foam is a lightweight and durable insulation material. There are varieties such as EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), XPS (Extruded Polystyrene) and EPS (Extruded Polystyrene). It is used on walls, roofs, floors and foundations.
Polyurethane Foam: Polyurethane foam is an insulation material that is applied by spraying or pouring in liquid form. While providing thermal insulation, it offers waterproofness and high thermal efficiency. It can also be found in the form of panels joined together with adhesive in a compressed state.
Mineral Wool: Mineral wool is made similarly to glass wool but is produced from mineral fibers that can be basalt, ceramic or metal. It is used for heat and sound insulation and is fire resistant. It can be used on the interior and exterior surfaces of buildings.
Cellular Glass: Cellular glass is an insulation material produced by melting and foaming glass. Provides high thermal insulation, waterproofing and chemical resistance. It is especially used in areas that will be exposed to high temperatures or chemicals.
Insulation Boards: Insulation boards made of EPS, XPS or other materials can be used in a variety of structural applications. It is especially preferred in exterior insulation systems (DEKOPAN), floor insulation and roof insulation.
Bentonite Sheets: Bentonite sheets are a natural insulation material used for waterproofing. It is created by embedding bentonite clay in a flexible carrier and prevents water leakage. It is especially used in waterproofing and floor insulation.
